Of all the film schools in LA, Video Symphony boasts one of the best locations for both professional development and recreation. Film schools in Los Angeles can be flung anywhere across the greater LA basin, but downtown Burbank was chosen as our location for a number of specific reasons, including the sound studios already on-site, close proximity to some of the biggest editing and production houses in the country, and easy access to downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood, and all the other colors Southern California has to offer.

Why do we love Burbank? The small enclave of Burbank is nestled comfortable in the foothills of LA County just north of Los Angeles, and it perhaps has more claim to the heart of Hollywood than Hollywood itself. Within a three mile radius of Video Symphony you can find some of the biggest studios and names in the business, including Disney, Warner, NBC, Nickelodeon, ABC, Dreamworks, and countless music, video, film, and FX post-production studios.

Neighboring Glendale, La Cañada, and North Hollywood, Burbank is a classic Los Angeles town that still enjoys the palm trees, wide streets, plentiful sun, and safety that used to define the City of Angels. In fact, Burbank was recently identified as one of the safest cities in the United States with a population under 200,000.

Besides the professional advantages of being close to all the action and the social advantages of easy access to everything fun and exciting that LA has to offer, there are a number of simpler benefits to our location relative to other film schools in LA. These include ample parking within convenient walking distance, a very walkable neighborhood that is perfect for those moments when you need to get outside to find inspiration, and many nearby restaurants, shops, or the AMC movie theater.

However, we’re far enough from the frenetic energy of the city that if you are like most students and want to ignore these distractions so you can focus on your passion, you’ll find the perfect setting to spend hours glued to an editing bay collaborating with peers. Nonetheless, we offer the following lists and information about some of the best sites, attractions, and benefits of Burbank, the home of Video Symphony, your best choice for a film school in LA.
